World of Breaking Academy Vienna & Wels

We shape the future of young people. In the summer of 2023 we founded the ASKÖ World of Breaking Association and Austria's largest urban dance school (World of Breaking Academy), with which we will bring about a big, noticeable and positive change. Our goal is to support young people to show and realize their full potential. To use breaking sport and the enthusiasm that arises from various projects for the common good. Inspire children, enable and shape perspectives. Guiding young people on the right path and giving them a strong and positive attitude for the future. Further development and promotion of Austrian urban sports culture. The World of Breaking Academy is an opportunity to make progress in the areas of the environment, jobs, business, education and more. Encouraging children to exercise is our vision for the future, which we will implement with the help of breaking sports. Which is also urgently needed when you look at the negative developments in relation to the mobility and health of children and young people in recent years. Sport is one of the most valuable tools in society for raising healthy children: developing self-esteem and self-confidence, strengthening social skills, accepting failure in all areas of life, developing discipline, building physical skills, having health benefits. Our program is intended to offer an all-round package to encourage not only children but also parents to invest more in these things again.

ASKÖ - Upper Austrian Breaking Championship  

The Upper Austrian Breaking State Championship will take place on July 6th, 2024.

World of Breaking Ambassadors

International World of Breaking Battle

The event is about a breaking battle in which international and national dancers can demonstrate their talent in a competition. Such events have grown in popularity over the years while encouraging the younger generation to place more emphasis on physical fitness, body confidence and health through dance. Our international World of Breaking Battle is explicitly about breaking, also known as breakdancing, B-boying or B-girling. It is originally a street dance form that emerged as part of the hip-hop movement among African-American youth in Manhattan and the Southern Bronx of New York in the early 1970s. Dancing to pop, funk or hip-hop music. For many youth, B-boying, as it was known in the 1970s and early 1980s, offered an alternative to urban street gang violence. Nowadays, breaking requires dancers to have a high level of discipline in terms of body control and athletic ability. Breaking is now a very common and recognized dance form worldwide. Breaking culture sees itself as free of boundaries of origin, religion, gender or age. International competitions first began taking place around the world in the 1990s, popularizing the dance form in both the hip hop community and the general public. Breaking made its debut at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. After its overwhelming success, breaking was added to the Paris 2024 Olympic sports program as a new sport alongside surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing.
